Everytime we vist the library Esther has little interest in the books in the back of the lovely book bus (shelves in the back of a big wooden bus the children can sit in and pretend to drive - Esther is always driving to school on the bus so she says). She only has eyes for 'big girls books' mostly the Rainbow Magic series. Until recently I always told her they were too old for her as they are chapter books with few pictures then one day I thought we may aswell give them a go so we borrowed one. Esther absolutely loved it! She sat through the whole thing being read no problem and when we read before bed we only read one or two of the chapters and the next night she can tell me exactly where we need to start reading! I must admit I'm not looking forward to some of them e.g. Harriet the Hamster Fairy?? Why on earth is there a Hamster Fairy??!! Anyway, as long as she enjoys them eh?
