In September we will become a 4 girl family, a regular family of little women.
The girls were thrilled to find out our new baby is a girl and have been very helpful suggesting names. This naming a 4th baby girl is not an easy task...

Diamond Jubilee
The girls had parties at their school/playgroup to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Esther's school made bunting and had a 'street party' in the playground with all kinds of treats to eat. It was non-uniform day with a red, white and blue theme of course.

May Day 2012
Given our miserable weather we weren't hopeful for the May Day dancing at Esther's school to go ahead but we actually saw a hint of sun and the festivities went ahead.
I love that the school has this tradition, my parents have pictures of me in my infant school country dancing celebrations!

Easter Holidays 2012
The Easter holidays this year started out on a bit of a downer, Esther started feeling poorly and proceeded to have a temperature of around 39 C for a week, even medicine didn't bring it down too much. After 5 days we went to the doctors who prescribed an antibiotic for suspected chest infection. That night she got a rash and since we didn't know if it was an allergy to the antibiotic we had a trip to the out-of-hours doctor who couldn't confirm either way but didn't think she had a chest infection. So the next day, which happened to be Alice's birthday, it was back to our GP. He confirmed it was a viral rash and she had a virus not an infection and I should just keep her dosed up on calpol and nurofen. With Esther being ill and also pretty poor weather we hadn't gotten out much but since it was Alice's birthday we took a trip out to a local garden centre that along with plants has some fish, rabbits, hamsters, mice, chickens etc plus craft stuff, books, candles (the girls favourite section!) and toys. As we were looking at the books Alice climbed up the 2 tier trolley and fell head first from the top. Trip number 4 to the doctors in less than 30 hours!!! We were really getting our money's worth from the NHS and Alice gets the pleasure of waiting at the doctors twice on her birthday! What a treat!
We had planned a trip to my parents for the Easter weekend and decided to go ahead since Esther seemed to be on the mend. We took a few day trips out, the first to York and since it was miserable weather we went into the York Castle Museum which turned out to be pretty good. There were a lot of different displays leading you through history and things for the girls to do so they really enjoyed it. Here they are in the old police cell:

By Easter Sunday Esther had started feeling unwell again. Too much, too soon I guess and so we went home the next day. We took it easy for the next few days and managed a play date near the end of the holidays. The holidays were a real washout and the kids watched The Incredibles more times than I care to add up but thankfully Esther was well enough for the start of school.
Alice turns 2
At the beginning of April our Alice turned 2. Here's some picutres of her on her 'hatty birday' as she calls it.
| Getting the hang of opening the goodies |
| Her best gift ever - an Elmo Look and Find book |
- She never stops talking and/or singing! She knows the words to so many songs and can tell you whatever she needs or wants, she picks up new words in a flash.
- She loves all things Seasame Street, especially Elmo.
- She is our only girl so far that likes to wear trousers though I think this may be changing.
- Alice loves to go out in her pushchair.
- She can run in high heels no problem (she calls them her click clock shoes even though they are actually Eliza's and a size too big)
-Her favourite meal of the day is breakfast particularly Special Flakes with Red Berries.
- She misses her sisters when they are at school and playgroup and insists she should be going to school too.
- Alice is quite the character who makes us laugh like crazy, is super affectionate and our lives would be way too quiet without her!
