Leftover from November

I have been very slack about writing anything much on our blog, mostly because it seems that there are so many other things I should be doing that need doing but I'm making a start on the catching up now. So other than selling our house and finding a new one, here are some of the things we did in November...

Remember at the beginning of the year we went to Germany for my brother's wedding? Well Miriam (Mimi) was kind enough to put us up there the night before the wedding. In November she came over with friend Ninja (pronounced Ninia) for a YSA activity in London and stayed with Bex in Cambridge then came for dinner on the Sunday. Mimi has the blonde hair and Ninja the dark hair and glasses. It's funny how though we had only met Mimi for probably 24 hours and never met Ninja before it so didn't feel like that, it was like having old friends over for dinner. Dad was down for the weekend too working... Earlier in the month it was my birthday and Bex made us dinner and a delicious Hummingbird birthday cake for me - it tasted as divine as it looked. She was icing it at 1 in the morning after having taken pictures at her friends wedding that day. What a fab sister! Love ya Bex! The Cryers came over to help us eat it... Ben well and truly showered me with gifts, they were perfect. He was feeling bad for having to work late and long hours and weekends ever since Alice was born (he didn't have any time off when she arrived) when he has been basically doing 2 jobs. I don't know why he should feel guilty though since he is just doing his best to provide for us and is setting such a good example of integrity and hard work for our girls. I must say I wasn't sorry to be spoiled though...

The week before my birthday was mum's birthday and mum and dad came down to our house. Again Bex made a fabulous cake - a Brooklyn blackout cake covered in Thorntons chocolates. Mum had found this funny candle which stated off all closed up then when you lit the middle candle all the other candle lit and it opened up into the flower and played 'happy birthday'! It was on the tacky side of tasteful but the girls loved it!

Just a picture of Alice and dad:

Also in November was Bonfire night. We were going to go to an organised event but for the price of entry we thought was may as well buy some of our own since the fireworks at the event weren't even starting till after the kids bedtime! Plus we weren't sure how much the kids would enjoy standing in the freezing cold waiting for some loud bangs and flashy fireworks. As it happens they were thrilled enough with looking though the patio door to our little fireworks display in the back garden put on by Ben and Dad. Ooooohhhhh a fountain firework....

There's a quick round up of November.
